Wood Ash Industries Inc. (WAI) is an aggregate site and a MOE approved wood ash disposal site under contract with Kirkland Lake Power Corporation (KLPC) a wood fired cogeneration plant located in Kirkland Lake ON. WAI has exclusive rights to the wood ash produced at KLPC. The site receives and recycles wood ash in concert with aggregate extraction and has significant drilled proven sand and gravel resources. WAI owns the surface rights to approximately 80 acres of land and is located 10 miles east of Kirkland Lake, on highway #66. There is approximately 500,000 cubic meters of recyclable wood ash on site, OMAFRA approved, for use in agricultural, brownfield and mine tailing remediation applications.
The wood ash is 38% carbon or biochar, this translates into approximately 100,000 tons of marketable carbon for use in activated carbon, horticultural and environmental clean up applications. There has been a favourable marketing study conducted. The carbon has an approximate valuation of $500/ton.
WAI has developed a proprietary separation technology, that includes preliminary plant design, to separate and produce carbon. WAI has designated land, on highway #66 with power located on it and a rail siding close by within the land package. The designated land is sand based very suitable for plant development.
The corporation is 100% owned by Brian Coghlan with no encumbrances suitable for investment from private and public companies. WAI is open to all proposals, Preference will given, but not limited to, those who are interested in developing a plant to produce carbon and/or wood ash recycling. WAI is open to strategic partnerships with a view to an exit strategy by the owner. Aggregate, wood ash and carbon royalties will be required by the purchaser to be negotiated at a reasonable price.
